TUKAPA CLUB. 1 The fifteenth annual mooting of the Tukapa Club was held at the Town Hall last night. About forty members were present and Mr. H. J. H. Hobbs was elected to the chair. REPORT AND BALANCE-SHEET. The report presented by the secretary (Mr. F. Movorley) stated that the teams acquitted themselves admirably during, the past season. The seniors* were the winners of the Dan O'Brien Shield and the Northern Championship. They were defeated at Manaia in the play-off by AVaimato, winners of the Southern Division. The first juniorhad to be- congratulated .on winning the Northern Championship and defeating Opunake, winners of the Western Divi sion and also Waimate at Manaia. Tim team at the latter end of the season travelled to Masterton and Napier, playing the Kia Ora Club at the latter place and winning by 6 points to 3. Thanks were tendered to the Kia Ora Club for the hospitable manner in which they entertained their visitors. The third fifteen were not so successful. The committee recommended that the thirds should have half their tm veiling expenses paid. The committee recommended that the club's delegate support a motion to have the boundaries altered to include Eltham second juniors in the Southern Division. The financial statement showed a balance in hand of £6 17s 2d. This was not sn large as the committee had hoped for. but the items insurance and travelling expenses had been very heavy. It wo?hoped that in future players would make an effort to pay their travelling expenses. During the season the club had lost the services of some of the most prominent players, no less than six going over to the ranks of professionalism. This was to be regretted. It behoved the players to train hard and attend practices to attain their positions and so uphold the reputation of the club. The thanks of the club were tendered to the Referees' Association for the able manner in which their duties were carried out, to the ladies for their support, the outgoing officers, the press, and all who had assisted iv any way towards the success of the season. HAWKRA CLUB. The annual meeting of the Hawera Football Club was held on Saturday evening, Mr. F. Livingston presiding. There was an attendance of 26. The annual report regretted that no championships had been won, but the members of the various teams did not take as great an interest in the game as might have been expected, and towards the end of the season there was some difficulty in raising a senior team-; and all through the season it was hard work to get a good third team. It was hoped that old members would persuade young players to join the club. The policy of encouraging and bringing out young players should be consistently and vigorously followed. During the season the senior team played 8 matches, ,of which 4 were won, 3 lost and 1 drawn; 65 points were scored, against 48 by opponents. The first juniors were runners-up in the Southern Division, in which 8 matches were played, 5 were won, 2 lost and 1 drawn; 80 points

1 were scored against 23 by opponents, i The thirds had only 1 win and 1 draw out of 8 played. The committee had pleasure ill reporting the third successive win in a seven-a-side game at Eltham, and the cup was now the club's property. Four of the club's members had gained representative honours (Messrs. Hunter, Colman, Whittington and Beamish), and Messrs. Hunter and Colman had gained international honours. Two members of the juniors (Messrs. Brown and Villars) were chosen to play for the junior representative team. Bayly Park had been leased for 20 years at a peppercorn rental with a right of purchase at. the end of tho term. The club had to pay rates on the ground, which amounted "to £12 yearly. The prospects tor the coming season were not as bright as they might be, but it was hoped that one and all would get into training in readiness for the season's games. If old members would try their best to encourage others to put enthusiasm into their play the committee felt sure that with ordinary luck the teams would put 'up a better performance this year. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £41.

The following officials were elected : Patron, Mr. G. Livingston; President, Mr. F. Livingston ; Vice-Presidents, Messrs. A. Hunter, F. Quin, J. Campbell ; delegate to Taranaki Union, Mr. W. Powdrell ; secretaries, Messrs. Beamish and Hammond; auditor, Mr. R. F. Page ; treasurer, Mr. F. Quin ; general committee, Messrs. J. Cooper, Gregg, Whittington, Alec Hunter, Villars: selection committee, Messrs. Beamish, AVhittington and Cooper. The election of captain for the senior team was left over. It was decided to open the season on Saturday, March 27.
