WELLINGTON, March 11. Dr M ' Arthur, S.M., heard cases for the enforcement of industrial awards to-day. The Patea Shipping co was fined' £5 for not paving sailors of the Ivapiti within the time fixed by the award The defence was that a breach had been committed really for the convenience of the men, whose homes were in Wellington, and who had been paid here. • Judgment was reserved m the case against Humphries Bros, for pmplovine o non-unionist carpenter. It was stated for the defence that the man concerned was *tairra£ hand It submitted that., while every staircase hand is n joiner, every joiner is not a staircase hand.
