NEW PLYMOUTH V. HAWERA.

A team of six New Plymouth players journeyed to Hawera on Thursday and spent a most enjoyable day. The visitors were most hospitably received. The local club suffered defeat^ losing four out of the seven games played. Owing to lack , of ■ time, one single was unfinished and one double not even started. A long and most interesting game was between Mrs. Hawken (Hawera) and Miss Deacon (New Plymouth), who were playing first place for their respective clubs. This game (short game) lasted two hourss and was finajly won by Miss Deacon. Misr Hall (unfinished), Mrs. Webster lost to Mrs. Murray.
