WELLINGTON POLICE COURT.
WELLINGTON, Feb. 17. At the Police Court to-day three men John Trainor, William Thomas and ! George Williams, were committed for trial on a charge of assaulting and robbing an old man named James Carter in the back premises of a city hotel on the night of February 8. At the Police Court to-day Patrick J. Flannagan Avas fined £5 and costs £1 18s 6d for. inserting an. advertisement in New Zealand Truth announcing his willingness to make bets on the results of the Wellington races last month.
