LORD ALDAWYN'S SUGGESTION

(Received Nov. 28, 11.42 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 27. The Primate and tho Earl of Halsbury supported the suggestion m.ide by Lord Saint Aldwyn yesterday in reference to the Licensing Bill. Lord Rosebery asked both parties to co-ope-rate in carrying the suggestion into effect. [Lord Aldwyn suggested that the Government should be asked to withdraw the "confiscatory" proposals of the Licensing Bill, contending that if that were done the House of Lords would be quite willing to pass a Bill to promote temperance.)
