The trial ol liamphere, a hum hand, cm (he charge ol murdering Mrs. BeMe j Guinness and her three children at La Porto farm some months ago by burning down their house has been concluded. The jury acquitted accused of the s charge of murder but found him guilty ot arson. Laniphere has appealed on the ground that he must be either guilty of the murder or else innocent altogether. [The Guinness horror created a big sensation in America. Not only were the corpses of Mrs. Guinness and her children found in the ashes of the building but there were evidences of wholesale murder having been practised at the farm. Investigations were made and several corpses were found buried about the grounds. It was said that a Chicago band of criminals was responsible for the murders, but the real instigators were never discovered.]
