Mr. .R. Cock, of New Plymouth, has been appointed judge of produco for the Wanganui Agricultural Show. Messrs A. McL. Thomson (New Plymouth) and W. E. Porcival (Inglewood) went North last night for a short holiday. A cablegram from Rome announces thiit the Pope gave audience to Bishop Lenihan, of Auckland.
Mrs-. A. George's orchestra has been engaged for the Fire Brigade ball on No^ ember 9. The services at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church to-morrow will be conducted by Mr W. Harppr, missionary of the Church of Scotland. For first-class job printing call at the Herald Office
