SCARCITY PREDICTED. COLONIAL REFINING COMPANY'S REPORT. By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright. (Received Oct. 1, 9.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 31. The Colonial Sugar Refining Company's half-yearly report shows net profits amounting to £146,493. A dividend of 10 per cent, is recommended, £36,369 being carried forward. The cane crop which is now being cut is disappointing. The heavy frosts will so reduce the output that sugar carried over from last season will be required to supply the Commonwealth. The company intends to replace the Fiona with a larger steamer of the same name provided with tanks to carry molasses in bulk, in order to meet the growing demand for this product. i" I
