The heavy sea running carried the Kincumber on to the end of the breakwater. The vessel drifted on to the beach. Captain Anderson and a seatnan named Waim were washed overboard and drowned. The remainder of the crew and passengers reached the shore safely in the ship's boats. The Kincumber has broken up.
