Forty-two competitors, including Rowland, of New Zealand, started in a twenty-four hours' walking match at the Stadium. ' = T. E. Hannon beat all records after 50 miles, including 100 miles, which he covered in 18 hotlrs 4 minutes 10 seconds. In the twenty-four hours he covered 131 miles 585 yards. Horton was second with 121 miles, and Wakefield third with 118 miles. Rowland retired #fter fifteen hours.
