Mr Newton King's weekly auction report is as follows : — \ \ At the Haymarket on Saturday pigfi were in fair supply. Suckers brought 3s 6d. weaners 7» to 16>, small stores 18s to 30s, calves Is to 4s 6d/ horses £2 to £2 ss.

At the Mart poultry again sold at high rates, the supply not being equal to the demand, although I had a very good entry. Ducks 2s 5d to 3s 4d, turkey hens 3s to ss, gobblers 5s to 6s 9d ; cockerels 2s to 8s 2d, hens Is 8d tc 2s 6d, pure-breds 3s 4d to ss, pigeons 6d to Is. " Fruit — Apples have been selling at from 10s to 12s for good samples, inferior 6s to Bs, oranges 11s to 12s bd. NEW PLYMOUTH, SEPT. 11.
