PAYMENT BY RESULTS.

DUNEDIN, Sept. 10. u&t » meeting of the local Bootmakers Union to-night, a communication was received -from the executive or the Federation urging members not to accept any bonus or work on any piecework or bonus system unless the system had been approved by the "Federation. It was decided to urge the Government to insert a clause in the Arbitration Bill making it illegal for employers to adopt bonus or premium bonus systems. The following- motion was also carried:— "We are oi opinion that the time is ripe for the introduction of a log price on a weekly wage basis, to be fixed for every operation so as to enable members to compute their earnings." „
