A conflict occurred at Glasgow be- > tween a Crowtl of unemployed and the police. - At midnight last night ,a' mass meeting of the unemployed wasv. held in George Square/ Leaders of the unemployed mad© inflammatory speeches. ■ The police dispersed tho crowd, but three thousand men assembled>~again and set out to march to the Lord Provost's house. - When they were a quarter of a mile from theis destination a force of mounted police suddenly charged them. The mob was scattered in all directions. Batons were freely used and many t heads were broken. 's
