SHEARERS' AWARD.

CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 9. Tho award in tho shearers' dispute was received from the Arbitration Court to-day The award states that, subject to the provisions of the award, an employer shall have full control of his shearing operations. The number of sheep to be shorn shall be agreed upon approximately between . the employer or his agent and the shearers before the commencement of the shearing ;• hours of shearing to be from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., or 5.30 a.m. tQ 5.30 p.m., with intervals for meals and anything as may be agreed upon; the rate of pay to be 18s per 100 with rations, and an additional 3s 4d without rations; No shearer is bound to shear any cancered sheep, and no shearer shall enter a catching pen after the bell rings. All sheep are to be taken carefully from the catching pen, and no shearer iB to be compelled to shear sheep which he has reasonable ground to consider wet; the Union to do all in its power to prevent any strike, and if any strike shall occur in which any member of the Union) shall take part, such strike shall be! {>rima facie evidence that § the Union las committed a breach of its duty. In the event o£ a strike, the operation of i all clauses in the award is to be sus-| pended, and until a further order of ] the Court. The hours of work, wages and other conditions of work for all workers coming within the scope' of the award shall be fixed by agreement between each employer and the individual.
