WELLINGTON, August 17. Tho Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner at Lpndon, dated August 15: — Frozen Meat— rThe mutton market is steady. There is not much demand, but prices are firm. There is a scarcity of prime quality mutton. Current quotations: Light-weight Canterbury Ijd, North Island 3Jd, heavy-weigm Canterbury 3|d, North Island 3*d. The lamb market is quiet, with moderate business doing. There is only dull sale for heavy' carcases, /but a good demand for ligWt-weights. There is no change in prices to report. . .The beef market is ftrm,with more inquiry.
