REFERENCE TO THE BRITISH NAVY.

Interviewed by an Auckland Herald representative prior to the departure of the fleet, Rear-Admiral Sperry said he had been greatly impressed with the warmth an,d cordiality of the reception given to tbo fleet in Auckland.' Regarding the trip to Rotorua Admiralt&perry stated that it had been very impressive and satisfactory, not only on - account of the characteristic hospitality and welcome by the Maoris, but by the evidences on every side of the fertility and prosperous condition of this country. He referred to the varied industries that had, come under, his notice -*- dairying, cattle-raising; sheep farming, timber industry, etc — and expressed pleasure , at .noting such progress in each. "Rotorua is very unusual and capable of very great "development for the benefit of ail people in these southern regions,"' 'tfce Admiral addedx "Th© new bath-house bears evidence that Rotorua 1 must have* a good many visitors, for it is designed to accommodate such a large number of people. The baths and appliances for curative treatment there nave been remarkably well considered, and I may say I think the bath-house is itodern and up-to-date in all its requirements."
