OLYMPIA SKATING RINK.

The Fancy Dress and Impersonating Carnival was continued at the Olympia Skating Rink< last* night. A most .enjoyable evening's entertainment was again provided tor patrons. There were several riew fancy costumes, but generally the attire was the same as on the previous evening. Mr Rowlands , gave £ short exhibition of fancy skating and caused much amusement by his grotesque movements in down s costume. A cigarette race aroused a great deal of interest snd excitement. Among the competitors were Messrs Button, Chong, Willjs, BaJlantyne, Cock, Ftfx, Johnson, Rowlands, Hurle, Schlierike and others. The ««*». wa f run in the three heats. Willis finished first in the final, but his cigarette was not alight and the victory went to Fox, who came in second. A hockey match between patrons in costume created much merriment. Mr Buxton s team won by two or three points. The winners of prizes at the Carnival will be announced to-night. - This morning a children's matmee was held, a large number of youngsters occupying the rink*./ *.. „ .. On Tuesday night a special attraction will do* provided. Two lo^al blacksmiths, who have never yet worn a pair of skates, will . attempt to. race four times round the rink for a wager.
