DAIRY PRODUCE MARKET. "GRIFFITHS AND CO.'S LONDON REPORT.

. Messrs E. Griffiths and Co. have received: the following market report from their London principals, Mills and Sparrow, dated July 3, : Butter. — The -weather is very brilliant, and there are no signs of rain. In the south the hay is practically all stacked, and there is yet a iapr quantity in the Midlands and North to be carted. All districts report a splendid crop. Some good rains would be welcomed by the farmers in the Southern Counties. Danish: No change in quotation. Markets in the north are not so buoyant as agents would' wish, and buyers are resisting present prices very vigordusly 1 . Siberian: About 11,000 casks came to hand this week, and uome imagined that, with the increase in quantity, slightly lower prices would xule. The demand has, however, been good, and all the butters are practiqally, cleared at late rates. It seems-impos-sible to get any reliable information as to the make in Russia, but they must have an exceptionally good season from now to make up , the shortage which there undoubtedly is in the arrivals. French : Quality, which up to the present time has been particularly fine has droM«d back on account of. the heat, and lower prices have, in some instances been accepted* A little cooler weather would soon put .this right. Irish: The heavy make continues, and some factories and creameries have been put into cold store. It is difficult to say whether these are for storing until the autumn, or merely Jo keep them in good order and condition instead of letting them remain for a few days in an ordinary warehouse. Some of the recent arrivals have shown signs of heat. American: A very heavy make is reported, and some anticipate a surplus t.> be shipped to this country if the present favourable conditions . continue. Australian : Prices and quotations are merely normal, as there is not sufficient offering to make a market. Cheese. — Canadian.: Prices are. easier by cable this morning and reports to' hand say that all crops are in a very flourishing condition. It is altogether too early yet to say definitely, but the conditions at time of writing ; arc good and everything points, to a prosperous time for the farming xndus-» try in dairying districts.
