CONCERT AT THE RECREATION GROUNDS.

Considering the weather was so fine, the attendance at the concert given at the Recreation Sports Grounds by the New Plymouth Orchestra last night was very disappointing. Those who did attend, however, were well rewarded, for the orchestral party under the conductorship of Mr W. Perry rendered an admirable programme? Following were the items: — "Mikado" (Sullivan), "Bells of Normandy" (Planquette), "Paul Jones" (Planquctte), "Gondoliers" (Sullivan), "Faust" (Gounod). "Grand Duchess' (Offenbach), "Liistspiel" (Kela Bela), "Jolly Robbers" (Suppe). The sports ground was illuminated for the occasion with numerous Chinese lanterns, which gave a pretty effect.
