A MAYOR'S GENEROSITY.
Per Press Association. NAPIER, April 15. The Borough. Council to-night voted the Mayor (Mr. J. Vigor Brown) an honorarium of £200 for his past year's services. The Mayor stated that neither his income * nor his business had suffered through attending to the duties of his position, and he proposed to give £50 of the honorarium towards establishing a free reading-room at Port Ahuriri and £150 for erecting swings on tho beach and otherwise providing recreation for the young.
