THE STATE OF CONGO.
(Received April 16, 8.8. a.m.) BRUSSELS, April 15. A statement issued by the Government of Congo Free State declares that many of" the assertions contained in the reports of British consuls are erroneous. The Government insists that natives are left free if they pay the taxes in money. The statement denies that obstacles are placed in the way of foreign trade in Congo.
