MR. CHURCHILL'S ELECTION CONTEST.
LONDON, April 15. Mr G. -Hales has decided to withdraw from tho election contest for Mr. Winston Churchill's seat at Manchester. He will support tho candidature of Mr Hicks, the Unionist representative. < Mr Irving, ii Socialist, will he a can- ! didate. Mr Churchill gave a vigorous speech at Manchester. Ho declared that, if ho Arero defeated, it would lie a serious blow' for free trade, but the Government would not resign on that account.
