YOUTHFUL BURGLARS.
SENT TO INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 14. A band of five boys of ages ranging from ten to fifteen pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a round of burglaries. They had entered) fifteen premises and stolen a number of small articles and a quantity of jewellery. The last exploit occurred on Sunday, when they entered a jeweller's shop and stole jewellery valued at £50. Their total depredations amounted to- £llO. Most of the. articles were recovered when the gang was arrested, but a bag of opals, which the boy to whom- they wore" allotted threw away as valueless, is missing. Chief Detective Marsack stated that the boys roamed the streets day and night and were quite beyond parental control. All were committed to Burnham Industrial School
