AMERICAN FLEET'S VISIT.
AUCKLAND, April In an interview, the Hon. J. McGowan stated that Cabinet, at its first meeting, would consider the entertain,ment of the American fleet. Person/aly ho favoured the adjournment of Parliament to enable legislators to participate in the welcome, but it would i depend how the matter was viewed by members. No scheme had yet been formulated to entertain the visitors, ally ho favoured the adjournment ' of • the suggestion to hold a native gathering in Auckland. There were many difficulties in the road, and bbsides the Americans saw plenty of natives in their own country. He favoured a big round of bright social functions.
