NAVVIES' DISPUTE.

Per Press Association. WANGANUI, April 13. The Conciliation Board sat this morning to hear the general labourers' dispute as affecting local bodies and contractors. Employers, considering there were no local demands for increased wages, and therefore no dispute, did I not appear to oppose the claim, but several were subpoenaed by the Board and gave evidence. The chairman said that no matter whether the dispute , affected local contractors, it originated in the Wellington. Industrial District, and therefore had to be heard as affecting tho, whple district. Several workers' representatives also gave evidence. The Board will sit at other centres.
