FIRE IN A NEWSPAPER OFFICE.

AUCKLAND April 1?. ' A fire broke out at the Auckland Star office early oij Sunday morning. It originated in the stereo room. The fire brigade so promptly attacked the fjames that they were confined to one ffoor at the back of the premises. The loss is between £500 and £1000. It is covered by insurance in all the offices. A big staff of office employees, engin.eers and carpenters worked energetically to get the plant into working order, and repairs were effected suificient^ to enable tf?p;rk to be resumed as Usual to-day. When the fire brigade; was proceeding to the fire the hose reel with two men capsized in turning the corner of Fort Street. The men sustained injuries which are not serious. .■>'. ,
