MR. FOWLDS.
DUNEDIN, April 10. The Hon. G. Fowlds yisiteji a number of institutions in Dunedin to-day, including the Salva^ien, Army Maternity Home, the Carnegie- Public Library, the Art Gallery, Early. Settlers' Hal , and St. i Helen's Maternity- Hospital. At the last-named institution He conferred with the matron regarding necessary 'alterations* and improvements to bring the institution up to date. A conference between - the Minister and representatives of iocal "bodies was held to consider the question, of the drainage of Kaikoura Valley.- ,The local bodies could not agree as to a remedy for the. present state of affairs" and the Minister indicated the probability of appointing a commission depide the matter. , ' ' '/ - Mr Fowlds left for Gore this evening.,
