AUCKLAND, April 11. I The Chinese war junk Hwang-Ho, j which had been on 'exhibition on the Pacific coast of America,' was despatched from San Xfraneisco for New York' via Papeete. On sailing the Captain, relinquished the command to chief difiV cor Grindley. The vessel was practically without ballast. The wind and sea took charge of her and carried her far out of her course. Finally she arrived off Papeete on March 22, and yvas towed into^port. The crew were in a mutinous state. Salvage had to be paid for the tow into port. ' When the Manapouri left, the junk was awaiting orders. |
