.ANNUAL SPORTS. The annual, sports meeting of the Okato Athletic Club took place yesteiv day afternoon under most favourable conditions. There was a, large attendance, including, the patron ot the club, Mr H. ( Okey, M.i*. The programme was a varied one. The running events were exceptionally - -iuteresting, only inches dividing the xiompefcftora at the post in several of the races, ' In tho chopping events the contestants were often so close ,that. one log had not actually reached the ground when others tottered over. *^he Puniho Native Band rendered selections at , intervals.
