The crisis arose out of a. motion" 1 moved by Mr Webster for the appoint--ment of a Royal Commission to supeiy sede the Cabinet Committee which is now about to commence an iiiguiry into Post Office disorganisation. The adjournment of the' aebate wad moved, and in the vote the Ministerialists were defeated by 31 to 28. : Mr Deakin intimated that he accept^; ed this vote as a censure on the Govern-i ;ment. What the result would be de^ pended largely upon the Labour > Party i As the Labour Party caucus was.nqt solid in the vote on Mr Webster's proposal, it is probable the trouble will be smoothed over.
