I „ 7 - ' WsBORNE, March 28. I A phenomenal rainfall on Thursday caused a heavy flood in the Te Arai stream, and wreaked extensive damage. In the upper of the municipal water supply worksr the pipe line' was carried away ,i for a distance of three miles^ and pipes were left in fantastic positions, deposited on. the bank. The fqrmer configuration or the valley has been completely changed,, and it will be necessary to survey a new line along the hUI- The damage is estimated at £5000. - „.'.!
