A STRANGE DECISION.

Birrejl, Chief Secretary for Ireland, explained* the Government's refusal to allow the Uriion Jack to be hoisted on national schools. He said the decision was arrived at on tlie ground that no political symbol should be permitted in schools. The Daily , Telegraph . characterises the decision as disgraceful and asks, "Why should the feelings of, the loyal Unionists be .violated in order to avoid tho faintest offence to the disloyal susceptibilities of Irish Nationalists.
