SUTTOSTS DEVON EAVBII RYE. j IT IS PERENNIAL and IT WILL NOT RUN OIJT. There is nothing new about Sutton's Devon Eaver — It is over 100 years old. As Rye Grass is the-principal grass in all pastures for sheep or . cattfcs, it is very important 'that the greatest caation. and care be . . exercised in securing s^ed which will prove perennial and will not, • ran out. Experience in England has proved that see:d saved -by Suttons,-from their old pastures in pevonshire, gives not only, a grass which will last for all time* but one which has easily a a greater feeding value than all others. Exactly the same applies in this Colony. The noted pastures in Poverty Bay and Hawke's Bay were all laid down with this seed more than fifty years ago, and are as good to-day as they ever were ; in fact, each year they improve. Also, there is no doubt whatever that the finest stands of Rye in Taranaki are those very old pastures which were sown down with this old Devonshire seed in the early days by the Mis- - sionaries. It has held better than all the seeds since sown and gathered in the Colony. Although the best colonial rye, even from Mission Stations, tniy die out in time, the Devon Eaver, brought here by the Missionaries spms fifty years ago, though sown in many different localities; remains in the ground to-diy; this applies also to the same seed brought out by Devonshire, families forty years ago. Indeed, although Taranaki Soil is very reluctant to accept Colonial aad the ordinary imported Rye seed, it has shown a remarkable liking for Suttoii's Da von Eaver. - Tnis is such a w^ll-knowa fact amongst the mote observant Taranaki : farmers thit we were pressed oa all sides to get supplies from Sattons of this seed. We have sold out our^iirst two ' shipmants, and the third, comprising >2i) tanks, has just arrived per Corinthic. A latge quantity of this has been booked for all*' parts of Taranaki by our shrewdest farmers who realise that a'^gbod sowin? is as impDttant as a good barn. . Tvs Rye all come? out in sealed tanks, thus preserving its vitality. P.S. — Don't confuse Sutton's Devon Eaver Rye Grast> Seed with othtr seed sold as imported English Perennial Rye -iDere is as great a difference as > between sunshine and darkness- We guarantee satisfaction, and you have Sutton's name, which has been pre-eminent for 101 years, as a further warranty of satisfaction.
