RIFLE CHOOTING.

MANGOREI V. TARATA. A shooting match took place on the Mangorei ritie range last Saturday botween Tarata and Mangorei. The teams were of ten men. Some of the Tarata men, in order to be present at this match, travelled over thirty miles. Although the day was rather rough for shooters — a south-east wind was blowing, with cold sleet at times — the shooting was very creditable. The visitors were entertained at luncheon on tho ground. The balance-sheet disclosed a very prosperous year, and showed a substantial balance after an expenditure of nearly £50. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: — President, Mr J. L. Ibbotson; secretary, and treasurer, Mr M. J. Marsh; ha'ndicapper, Mr A. Marsh ; management committee, Messrs G. Barker, T. Robinson, J. Simpson, and tlio president and secretary ; selector of teams, Mr M. J. Marsh ; auditor, Mr F. G. Dewhurst. It, was decided to obtain quotations for club uniforms, to be placed before the members at a later date. The club will hold a picnic of April 20 (Easter .Monday).
