An explosion of methylated spirits in the wardroom pantry of the flagship of the Australian Squadron caused the death of Private Culley, ot the marine infantry. A BENZINE EXPLOSION. SYDNEY, December 4. While six men were, in the stokehold of the coasting steamer Kempsey, lying at the wliarf, a naked light gave rise to an explosion. A leaky caso of benzine was near by. The six men were injured, two seriously. (Recoivetl December 5, 9.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 5. .Two of the viofcimH of the explosion on the Kempsey, Svensen (the second engineer) and a man named Dunn, have succumbed to their injuries.
