The duty oh apparel and attiro of any* description has been reduced, to 40 per cent. The preferential duty Is fixed at 45 per cent, (sic) —a reduction of 5 per cent. During tli^ debate, Mr. G. H. Reid urged the taking of a referendum on the fiscal question, but said it should not be taken on the occasion of a general election. y HAY AND. CHAFF DUTY. PERTH, November 7.
