Mr. Kcir Hardies brother and all the other Socialists, except one f were defeated at the Glasgow municipal elections. v (Received November 7, 8.29 a.m.) LONDON, November 6. ! Socialists were defeated in thirty-one municipalities. They were badly beaten at Accrington, Blackburn, Croydon, Darlington, East Ham, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Preston, Rochdale, where the polling was heavy. They won seats at jColne Valley, Sunderland, MiddlesI borough, Burnley,- and Sheffield. } Unionists gained from one to six seats •in each of fifty-seven boroughs which returned Liberals or Socialists to Parliament. s
