Banks sold a large quantity of the company's stock through collateral loans, and the ritcel Trust, by securing £4,000,000 worth of stock with an outlay of £3,400,000, adds materially to tho cash resources of the banks. Bar 'gold valued at £751,000 was secured in- London yesterday for New York, and the Oceanic, leaving South-, ampton to-day, takes a million sterling in gold. A further improvement has taken place in the New York situation.
