The German armoured cruiser F., which the .Naval and Military Record recently declared was a* "mythical" vessel,. Jus materialising very fast indeed. It is now known that she will liave turbine of 5t5;OOO hqrsetpower, or 10,000 horse-power^ niore than the' British Invincibjes. She will thus* be far tho most poWerfully-engined warship in existence, though the new Japanese armoured cruisers may ulti-' matelyjsurpass- her in this respect. No warship lias yet approached the 68,000|' horse-power which is being put into the two now Cunarders, but rapid progress is being made tpwards that figure. Some German authorities expect her to be built at the Schichan yard, where some months ago it was/ reported that' one of the new German Dreadnoughts' had' been lafd down. One thing is certain, the period of delay in German cbn--struction is over.
