FURTHER REDUCTIONS.
PROTESTS FROM THE EMPLOYEES.
United Press Association. — By Electric Telegraph . — Copyright. (Received July 26, 8.23 a.m.) LONDON, July 25. It is the intention of the Hon. R. B. Haldane, Minister of War, to further reduce the staff of the Woolwich Arsenal by 3000 men, making 8000 men the maximum strength in . time of peace, whereas formerly 15,000 were employed. The proposal has caiised indignation at Woolwich. The engineers demanded a strike, but the leaders over-ruled the' proposal. The workmen are now appealing to the Labour members of Parliament.
