BELL BLOCK.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) One of the most successful socials ever hold here took place on Thursday evening. The Hunt Club held their fortnightly meet at Mr 0. Sole's on that day, and all members who could attended in the evening. Between fifty and sixty couples took part in the dancing. During the evening the following ladies and gentlemen contributed items, all of which were highly appreciated : — Mrs G. Heslop and Miss I. Pote, pianoforte duet; Mr Rutherford, song; Mr Stokes, lecitation; Mr R. Giddy, comic song. Miss Leta Sampson, of Waitara, played the dance music,, extras being played by the Misses Giddfr, Bishop, and Rattenhury and Mrs Monk. Mr Harold Street was M.C. Mrs (Captain) Cornwall has leased her farm on the Pariate Road to Mr Geddes (of Toko), and has taken up residence in New Plymouth. The milk supply at the local factory is now at its lowest. Mr Rutherford, Ihe manager, and his right-hand mar., Mr Kilpatriok, are overhauling the plant in readiness for the coming season. I believe the dates are fixed for two weddings, and it is "factory talk" that three more of our young men are soon to take the fatal plunge. I would like to draw the attention of the powers that be to the awful state of the Corbett Road. Not a shovelful oi metal has been put on tliis winter.
