WELLINGTON, July 24.
The accounts of the Public Trust Office for the year ending March 31st last show that the balances ' in hand totalled £2,152,343. The chief items were as follows: — Wills and trusts, £1,471,904; intestacies, £137,751; Government Railway Superannuation Fund £110,736; mental patients, £81,615; West Coast Settlement Reserves, £48,645; under the Civil Service Reform Act, 1886, £47,402. The balance to credit of the profit and loss account on March 31st was £47,551 19s 2d. TJhe chief sources of revenue were as follows — Balance from previous year, £38,844 os sd ; commisions and charges ,£16,844 ; interest (being surplus from investments), £15,688.
