MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Criminal aud civil sittings of tho Magistrate's Court were held this morning, beiore Mr. H. S. Fitzherbert, S.M. BOARDING A MORNING TRAIN.
George Pott was charged by the police with boarding a train while it was in motion. The offence was committed at Stratford. — Defendant pleaded guilty, but asked for consideration, as the train was barely moving when he got on. — His Worship said a good many lives had been lost by people boarding morning trains; so the Legislature had taken steps to safeguard people's lives. The maximum penalty was £10, and lie did not think he could possibly make the fine less than £1. Accordingly, Pott was fined £1 and costs (9s).
