A BABY'S DEATH.
RESULT OF OVERLAYING. .. , Per Press AMo*iatioa. DUNEDIN, July 22. At the inquest on the infant Eileen Emma Barton, seven weeks old, who was found dead in bed in her mother's arms at Musselburgh, the medical evidence was to the effect that the child had been overlain by the mother in some way. The. jury returned a verdict accordingly. The Coroner remarked on the very dangerous practice of mothers taking babies into their own beds.
A SIMILAR FATALITY.
AUCKLAND, July 23.
The five-months-old child of Mrs Wm. Smith was found dead in bed alongside its mother on Monday morning. An inquest is proceeding.
