WATERSIDE WORKERS' CONFERENCE.

WELLINGTON, July 22.

The annual conference of the New Zealand Waterside Workers was held to-day. The annual report stated that the demand for preference to unionists would again be pressed on the Arbitration Court. It was decided to urge on Parliament the necessity of limiting the size of coal baskets to five to the ton, carrying baskets 12 to the ton, and grain sacks to a weight of 200 pounds. Resolutions were passed in favour of all accidents to waterside workers being reported to Government officials, and of all charges for medical attendance on incapacitated members being borne by the industry.
