HOCKEY.
The Nelson Representative team, to play a combined team at New Plymouth on Tuesday and the Taranaki Representatives on Wednesday, will consist of : — H. Wimsett, Trewavas, McLennan, E. Spear, Le Mottee, C. Taylor, Hurst, | Easton, Staples, Wanstal Anstice, C | Spear, Knyvett, and Bateup. The Whakatikas defeated the Hinemoas at Stratford on Saturday by two goals tq nil. Rain fell persistently throughout the game and the ground was very soft and sloppy. Notwith standing this the game, which wa3 played in two half-hour spells, was fairly fast. The goals were scored by Misses Norah Hanna and Ethel Perm, bQjth, in the first spell. The Hinemoas placed a, good game and were often aggressive, but the Whakatika defence was;, seu-nd. . Mr Anderson was an impartial referee. . The Nelson team will arrive by the South boat to-morrow (Tuesday), due at the Btreakwater about 6 a.m. The team will put up at the Trocadero. In the afternoon the visitors play a match oft the R.aceconrse, commencing -at 3 o'ipl&tefc, a combined team from thfc New Plymouth, Carrington Road, and Inglewood Clubs. On Wednesday the- 1 Nelson-Taranaki representative match will be played at Hawera. The visitors aficHocal members of the Taranajfci" team will travel to Hawera by tlib mail "train.
Mr. Fred Robertson will referee in to-morrow's match at the Racecourse.
