WAIONGONA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

The weather has been showery and cold this last week, and everything is looking its worst. The farmers are feeding their s£ock, as the frosts have cut off all the grass..

Mr. Hen wood's sale was held on Thursday. The cows were a fair lot, and realised good prices.

A dance was held in the, schoolroom on Friday night last, and was the most successful that has been held this winter. No one can say tha€ Waiongona does not have a large crowd when a dance is held. The success of these functions is due mostly to Mr. E. Hunt, who spares no effort to see that all enjoy themselves. Another dance is to be held on August 2nd, and, given good weather, a very enjoyable evening should be spent.

The Rev. White is 'getting up a concert, to be held in the school, in aid of Dr. Barnardo's Homes, and it is hoped the people will turn up and give their mite to so good and just a cause.
