MASONIC.

The annual meeting of the De Burgh ' Adams Lodge, 446, I.C!, was held in St. Mfary's Hall on Thursday. TheObusiness of the evening was the installation of the W.M.-elect (Bro. and the investiture of officers. for the ensuing year. The lodge \fras bpel^ed by the W.M.; W. Bro. Whittle, and the usual' routine business expeditiously disposed of.' Visiting brethren -werd then received, the country lodges of the mystic tie being well represented! Mount Egmont ?i 646, E.C., and Ngamotu, 48, N.Z.C., also mustered in strong force. The Gwind Lodge of New Zealand was represented by R.W. Bro. Corkill, G.S. ; V.W\ Bros. Dempsoy, A. W. Reid, and PJckett, V.W. Bro. W. F. Brooking, Provincial Grand Master, I.C, accompanied by V.W. Bros. J. Ellis, A. GoldwateE, l and D. M. Morrison, were announced, and the 1 firstnamed, acting as Installing , Master, then assumed the and proceeded to install the new master for the year: The ceremony was conducted in ' the usual' impressive manner, valuable assistance being HndereS by P.M.s Gbld,water and Mofrlson'. ■ The usual proclamation and' procession followed!, after which the newly-installed ,W^M. invested his officers as follows: 'tIP.M., Bro. Whittle ;,S.W., Bro. Beadle, J.W. Bro. Nixon; S.D., Bro: Gilbert; J.D., Bro. Corney; Secretary, P.M., Bro. Gdldwater;! D. oi C, P*.M. Bro. Hammond;" Organistj Bro. J./O. George; 1.G., Bro. Deare; Stewards, Bros. El Sole and A. Wooler ; Tyler, P.M. Bro. Asher.

Brb. J. O. George was presented by P.M. Bro. Ellis with 'a handsome jewel, a tribute from the brethren in recognition of his valuable' services as organist. ' ' The W.M. reciaived , congratulations from the G.L. of N. 55., the Grand Lodge of Scotland, and from brethren hailing from Ireland, Canada, ' Christchurch, and other parts of rthe colony. The musical portion was conducted by Bro. George, Bro. Sanders acting as trumpeter. At the conclusion of the ceremony the brethren adjourned to the did Masonic Hall, Brougham Street, where an excellent banquet had b&bn prepared by Mr Thompson. After justice had been done, the usual loyal and TMasonic toasts were honoured.
