Rev. H. J. Lewis, M.A., has consented 10 assist at the local Baptist Church, pending the appointment of a successor to Rev. W. R. Woolley.

Mr Frank JSberlet. .who has b^en assitant officer-in-charge of the Wellington Telephone Exchange, has been promoted to the charge of the Exchange at New Plymouth. Mr H. S. Fitzherbert, S.M., has been appointed Deputy District Land ' Registrar and Deputy Examiner of Titles for the district of Taranaki.
