AUCKLAND, June .14. . j Edward Maurice Burkhardt, storeman, of Auckland, petitioned for a divorce from his wife, Mildred Ejnma Louisa Victoria Burkhardt, JamesSßutler Hawker being named as co-respon-dent. Petitioner stated he married respondent at Auckland on May 20th, 1902, and immediately .found that they £puld npt, live.happily on account of his -wife's temper.' She was always nien-. tioning "my little hands'." and "poor little eyes," declaring she could not do tHe housework..' A baby was 11 ! -born on January 2nd, 1905, and^Mrs I Burkhardt separated" from him f six weeks later, . She threatened *o kifl the babyj and this was the cause q£ the separation.. Witness kept the baby/" and gave his wife an allowance many times since the separation. He had seen' his .wife out at night with Butler. Evidence as to misconduct was given.
